Our own service organization in Furuno Norge counts 12 people who have as their main task to perform problem shooting, provide support to dealers, shipyards and ship owners. We also run a significant number of training programmes aimed at our dealers, who are responsible for the first line service on board the vessels. The most costly part of a technical problem, are often lost revenues while the vessel is off-hire. We have taken the consequences of this, and invested in a significant inventory of spare parts and complete products at our head office in Aalesund, in order to minimize the lead time in connection with repairs, upgrading and replacements.
Because our end users are taking their vessels virtually everywhere that boats and ships can operate, we have established an extensive network of dealers throughout Furuno Norges geographical area of responsibility. Our sister companies in the rest of the world have built their local network in a similar way, so that we together make up the broadest service network in the maritime electronics industry.
