The navigation system from Furuno is tailored to meet the demanding requirements of a specialized vessel like Prysmian Monna Lisa. The delivery includes high-resolution radars, ECDIS, advanced navigational instruments and sensors and VDR, all fully integrated to provide the bridge team with comprehensive situational awareness.

Designed for redundancy, accuracy, and ease of use, Furuno’s navigation solution supports both transit and precise cable-laying operations.

Prysmian Monna Lisa is supplied with Furuno Voyager navigation system.

Furuno VOyager with multifunction stations

The FURUNO VOYAGER solution features multifunctional workstations that integrate chart radar, ECDIS, conning, and Alarm Management System (AMS) in a unified and user-friendly interface. All components are designed for intuitive and efficient operation.

The system’s flexibility is further enhanced by type approval of the FAR-3xxx chart radar for dual use as both radar and ECDIS, allowing it to serve seamlessly in both route monitoring and voyage planning roles. This enables more adaptable bridge layouts without compromising compliance or functionality.

Prysmian Monna Lisa is equipped in accordance with the NAUT-OC class notation and features a third radar installation along with Track Steering capability, provided by the Furuno FAP-3000/FMD-3200 Track Control System.

The newest Prysmian Grope's advanced cable layer Prysmian Monna Lisa is based on the VARD 917 design, developed by Vard Design in Ålesund, Norway, and serves as a highly specialized platform for offshore cable installation.

The design focuses on efficiency, precision, and operational reliability, making it well-suited for complex cable-laying projects worldwide.The hull was built at Vard Tulcea in Romania, while outfitting and finalization took place at Vard Søviknes in Norway.
